Norway in a nutshell

Norway….I have traveled to many countries around the world, but Norway has to be, for 100% sure, one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world. The lack of beauty is not the reason to travel to other parts of the world, it’s more than you want to see other places.

The wild beauty of Norway, with snow-capped mountains and deep glacier-carved fjords, is fantastic and makes beautiful scenery. The southwestern and western part of Norway is the main attraction for many visitors, arriving by plan, camping or cruise.

Norway facts

Norway – officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe occupying the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, as well as Jan Mayen, the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard and Bouvet Island. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometers (148,747 sq mi) and a population of about 4.9 million. It is the second least densely populated country in Europe. The majority of the country shares a border to the east with Sweden; its northernmost region is bordered by Finland to the south and Russia to the east; in its south Norway borders the Skagerrak Strait, across which Denmark is situated. The capital city of Norway is Oslo. Norway’s extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea, is home to its famous fjords.

Norway activities

Norway with fantastic nature and possibilities for adventure

Norway offers remote wilderness and a lot of outdoor activities, summer as winter. There is a lot of free space and nature is a big playground in this sparsely inhabited country.
Besides the beauty of nature, mountains, and fjords, you will find many historic towns, charming fishing villages, modern cities and a well-regulated society.

Natural wonders

Far north you find the famous midnight sun, and in wintertime, you will see the Northern lights.
It also boasts some of the most scenic bus trips, boat cruises and train rides in the world.
“The Land of the Midnight Sun”, with its long summer days, is not only for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts but offers a rich cultural heritage from the Vikings, the traditional nomadic Sami people of the remote northern regions, and world-renowned artists such as Edvard Munch.
